The Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year Sessional Assistant Professor position in Japanese Studies. A PhD in a field relevant to teaching the Culture and Society of Japan is required. The primary responsibility of this position is for teaching undergraduate courses on the current affairs of Japan in the areas of social sciences and humanities. Applicants must show evidence of excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching at the university level and research, with publications in the area of Japanese Studies. The successful candidate is expected to coordinate, further develop, and enhance the non-language component of the Japanese Studies Program. Familiarity with instructional technology is desirable. The appointment carries a teaching load of three full courses or the equivalent.
