Contractually Limited Appointment

Applications are being accepted for a one (1) three-year contractually limited position at the rank of Sessional Lecturer commencing July 1, 2015 and ending June 30, 2018, subject to budgetary approval. The successful candidate will assume the role of Program Director of the Nursing Simulation Centre (NSC). The successful candidate will also provide both classroom teaching in the undergraduate program and academic leadership in simulation and clinically-related nursing education with associated clinical learning resource management in collaboration with faculty. The Program Director will lead the development of additional teaching and learning supports within the NSC for students to foster excellence in educational practice. The Program Director will also guide and monitor processes within the NSC to ensure the effective utilization of resources.

Requirements for the position include:

- Baccalaureate in Nursing;
- Master's degree (preference given to a graduate degree in Nursing);
- Demonstrated knowledge of the theoretical foundations of nursing knowledge and principles of adult education to meet the needs of diverse student populations;
-Demonstrated experience in implementing simulation activities and management of high-fidelity patient simulators;
-Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of simulation scenarios;
- Demonstrated current knowledge and related clinical experience (within the past 3 to 5 years);
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching;
- Demonstrated alignment with the School of Nursing human science philosophy and commitment to social justice and health promotion; and
- Demonstrated contributions to innovative practice and/or education.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

- Teaching in an undergraduate university nursing program;
- Technology-enhanced and online learning; and
- Experiential education.
