Writing Department
The Writing Department, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year Sessional Assistant Professor position in Digital Writing to commence July 1, 2015. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in Composition Studies or cognate discipline, at or near completion, to teach in its Professional Writing program. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching and will have demonstrable expertise in composition pedagogy and experience teaching composition at the university level. The candidate will also have professional experience or academic background in the field of digital writing with applicability to professional writing. She/he will be expected to design and teach courses in introductory and advanced digital writing for professional writers, including a fourth-year experiential course. The appointment carries a teaching load of three full courses or the equivalent.
