Department of History
The Department of History, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications for a tenure-stream position in Canadian History at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2015. The successful applicant will also have the ability to teach Public History at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The successful candidate will have a completed PhD in History or in a related discipline; will demonstrate a commitment to excellence or the promise of excellence in undergraduate teaching at all levels; and will have a record of excellence or the promise of excellence in scholarly research including publications appropriate to their stage of career. In addition, applicants should have the breadth and versatility to teach a variety of undergraduate courses. The successful candidate will be prepared to participate actively in the Graduate Program in History and be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
