The Department of Equity Studies (www.yorku.ca/laps/des/), Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year Sessional Assistant Professor position in Human Rights and Equity Studies to commence July 1, 2015. A PhD in Law, Social Sciences or Political Science is required. The successful candidate will have published research and/or fieldwork research in the area of Human Rights from global social justice, feminist, critical race, and critical legal studies. The successful candidate must show evidence of excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in Human Rights and Equity Studies, including upper-level undergraduate courses. The appointment carries a teaching load of three full courses or the equivalent.
