York University, Glendon College - The Department of English invites applications for a one-year alternate-stream contractually limited appointment at the rank of Sessional Assistant Lecturer, with the possibility of renewal, to commence July 1, 2016.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in English with a specialization in Canadian literature, and be able to teach Transatlantic (British and American) literatures of the 20th century. The ability to teach courses in postcolonial literatures will be deemed a significant asset. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching. A record of scholarly work will be considered an asset. Given Glendon's bilingual mandate, the selected candidate must also be able to participate actively in College-wide service activities which take place in both French and English.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All positions at York University are subject to budgetary approval.
