Applications are invited for a three-year contractually limited appointment in Health Management and Global Health at the level of Sessional Assistant Professor or Sessional Associate Professor in the School of Health Policy & Management at the Faculty of Health. Candidates must have a PhD in Health Management or Administration with experience in Global Health. We will also consider applicants with a PhD in a related social science field with a strong health management and global health focus, who have a good fit with our School's needs in the health management area. MDs with a Master's degree in management or administration or a related social science field and experience in management and global health are also eligible to apply. Expertise in any of the following would be an asset: organizational behavior, leadership and governance, strategic planning, health systems sustainability, quality improvement.
Candidates will demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research and teaching, and teaching and learning innovations. Experience in implementing community based learning for undergraduate management students would be an asset. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in further development and teaching of the BA/BSc Global Health Curriculum, teach in the BHS program, participate in the planned graduate degree in Health Management and Informatics, and play a leadership role in the development of an applied Masters in Global Health. The position may involve graduate teaching and supervision in addition to undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to fully participate in a highly productive and collegial academic community.
The start date is July 1, 2016. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
