The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Electrical Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor, commensurate with qualifications, to commence July 1, 2017, subject to budgetary approval. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with a particular research focus and ability to teach in Biomedical Engineering or Micro/Nanoelectronics; although, exceptional applicants from other areas in Electrical Engineering may also be considered.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, or a closely-related field, and a research record commensurate with rank. The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program, supervise graduate students, and must be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The successful candidate will have the ability to participate in new or existing partnerships with industry and/or other public institutions, and demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence in leadership, teaching and scholarly research and curricular innovation at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Electrical Engineering. The successful candidate shall also demonstrate their commitment to the engineering profession by being licensed as a Professional Engineer or by becoming licensed soon after appointment.
