The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Lecturer (alternate stream) to commence July 1, 2017, subject to budgetary approval. The successful candidate will have a PhD in the Biological Sciences or a related scientific field with a strong interest in science education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, teaching and administering Biology courses and/or laboratory/tutorial components at the undergraduate level. Applicants will have experience in teaching undergraduate Biology courses (especially large first and second year courses) and have both expertise and teaching experience in microbiology and cell biology and/or genetics. As a teaching-focussed appointment, applicants will demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and have strong motivation and proven dedication to using innovative, effective evidence-based approaches to teaching science at the university level.
