The Department of Chemistry, in the Faculty of Science at York University invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the Assistant Professor level in an area of organic chemistry that involves synthesis or the development of synthetic methodology, to commence July 1, 2017, subject to budgetary approval. Of particular interest would be candidates whose organic research would complement York's existing strengths in organic and biological chemistry and interface with cognate research efforts in such areas as medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical (including neuropharmaceutical) chemistry, or materials chemistry.

The Department seeks candidates who demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly research. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry, post-doctoral experience in relevant areas, an outstanding research record and must be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an excellent and innovative research program, secure and maintain external peer-reviewed research funding, recruit and supervise graduate students, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
