The Department of Civil Engineering, Lassonde School of Engineering, York University invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence July 1, 2017, subject to budgetary approval. Candidates with significant academic and/or industrial experience may be considered for appointment at a higher rank. We are seeking candidates with expertise in the area of Geotechnical/Geological Engineering with a particular research focus and ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: experimental geotechnics, engineering geology, hydrogeology/groundwater, geophysical exploration methods, and rock mechanics. Candidates must demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching and scholarly research and be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely-related field, and be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
