The Department of Earth and Space Science and Engineering (ESSE) invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence July 1, 2017. We are seeking outstanding candidates with a particular research focus and ability to teach in the areas of Earth or Atmospheric Science and will consider candidates who specialize in experimental, theoretical or modelling aspects. Research areas that would compliment current activity in the department are glaciology, sea ice, climate feedback processes, and atmosphere-surface interaction, air quality, and atmospheric dynamics. Candidates must demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching and scholarly research and have a Ph.D. in Earth or Atmospheric Science or a related field. The successful candidate must be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
