Schulich School of Business
Timothy R. Price Chair in Real Estate and Infrastructure

Consistently ranked in the top tier of the world's best business schools and #1 in Canada, the Schulich School of Business is known for its global reach, innovative programming and the diversity of its student body, faculty and staff. Schulich enrols some 3,000 students in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate business degree programs leading to careers in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. The City of Toronto enjoys the benefits of a large and robust real estate and infrastructure sector and is recognized internationally as home to among the largest global investors in real estate and infrastructure. Toronto consistently ranks among the top cities in the world in terms of overall quality of life.

The Brookfield Centre for Real Estate and Infrastructure, Schulich School of Business, invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor level tenure-stream position, effective July 1, 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be the holder of the Timothy R. Price Chair in Real Estate and Infrastructure. The position is subject to budgetary approval. Salary and benefits are competitive. Successful candidates must be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Applications should be addressed to the named contact person.

The Timothy R. Price Chair in Real Estate and Infrastructure is an integral part of the recently founded Brookfield Centre in Real Estate and Infrastructure. The Brookfield Centre will be a hub of industry-relevant research, teaching excellence and experiential learning in real estate and infrastructure. Officially announced on June 15, 2016, the Centre will position the Schulich School to advance teaching and research and strengthen industry partnerships in a critical sector in both the Canadian and global economy. The Centre's activities include Schulich's 12-month Master of Real Estate and Infrastructure (MREI) program - the first of its kind in Canada and one of only a few in the world. The MREI builds on the School's long-existing MBA specialization in real estate and infrastructure to create leaders with the competencies to develop, invest in, and finance real estate and infrastructure. Other key priorities for the Centre include building partnerships with industry, engaging alumni, establishing new professorships and executives-in-residence, industry research, and creating new scholarships and student awards.

Candidates for the position will possess a PhD degree in Real Estate or in a related field and must demonstrate the capacity to assume a senior leadership role in establishing the Brookfield Centre as a global centre of excellence in teaching, research and engagement with industry and government. The candidate must provide evidence of excellence in teaching, a recognized record of achievement in academic research, publishing in top-tier journals in the field and, preferably, contributing to recognized texts in the field. The candidate must also demonstrate continuing and direct involvement with either the real estate or infrastructure industry sectors. The ideal candidate will bring to the position a strong background in both academia and industry and a proven record of engagement and outreach to the broader practitioner community.
