Contractually Limited Alternate Stream Appointments

Applications are invited from highly qualified individuals for five (5) Alternate Stream two-year Contractually Limited Appointments (CLA) at the rank of Sessional Assistant Lecturer; commencing July 1, 2017, subject to budgetary approval. Responsibilities for these positions will include teaching in the undergraduate program and academic service; some successful applicants may also be eligible for teaching responsibilities in the graduate program. Applications are invited from nurses with expertise in one of the following areas: Community Health, Primary Health, and/or Global Health; Mental Health; Paediatrics; Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner; or Complex-Acute Care of Adults.

Successful candidates must be registered in good standing or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; hold a baccalaureate degree in Nursing; and hold a Master's degree in Nursing or a related field. Candidates must demonstrate alignment with the School of Nursing's commitment to human science and to multiple perspectives in nursing discourses, knowledge, and research; and demonstrate alignment with the School of Nursing's commitment to social justice and health promotion. Successful candidates must have at least 5 years' experience in the declared area of expertise. Recent clinical experience (within the past 5 years) is preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate promise of excellence in teaching.

Possession of a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Nursing or a related field (preference given to a PhD in Nursing), and experience with teaching in university undergraduate nursing programs, in technology-enhanced and experiential learning environments, and on professional committees or governance bodies, are viewed as assets.

Candidates must provide their College of Nurses of Ontario (or current jurisdictional) registration number when applying showing they are registered as either a registered nurse or Nurse Practitioner. Candidates applying from outside of Ontario must demonstrate they are able to be registered in Ontario by the start date. Proof of academic credentials is required prior to appointment.
