The Faculty of Education invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in Early Childhood Education at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will offer leadership to the Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, contribute to our Bachelor of Education program, as well as teach courses within other programs in the Faculty and supervise graduate students. Within the broad area of ECE and aligned with the priorities of the Faculty of Education's Strategic Plan ( http://edu.yorku.ca/files/2017/08/EDU-StrategicPlan2017.pdf ), the successful candidate will offer expertise in areas such as: early years education policy; child development; mathematics education; literacy education; infant and family life; and play.
A doctorate in Early Childhood Education is essential for this position. Candidates must present evidence of their abilities to: establish a strong program of scholarly research; demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence and leadership in undergraduate and graduate teaching. They will also have publications appropriate to their stage of career and must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
The projected start date for this position is July 1st, 2018. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
