Leadership and Education

The Faculty of Education is one of the leading faculties of education in Canada. Through our research, scholarship and innovative programs, we enact our mission of reinventing education for a diverse, complex world.

The Faculty of Education invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in Leadership and Education at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued development of our new and unique Master of Leadership and Community Engagement program, contribute to our growing Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies, teach courses within other programs in the Faculty, and supervise graduate students. Within the broad area of leadership and education, and aligned with the priorities of the Faculty of Education's Strategic Plan ( http://edu.yorku.ca/files/2017/08/EDU-StrategicPlan2017.pdf ), the successful candidate will bring specific expertise in leadership theories grounded in critical perspectives; leadership in communities and organizations within and beyond schools; leadership and policy enactment; and community engagement.

A doctorate in Education or a related field and expertise in leadership in formal and non-formal education settings and sites are required. Candidates must present evidence of their abilities to: establish a strong program of scholarly research; demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence and leadership in undergraduate and graduate teaching. They will also have publications appropriate to their stage of career and must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

The projected start date for this position is July 1st, 2018. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
