The School of Administrative Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications for a tenure‐stream Assistant Professor position in Management Information Systems, to commence July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will have a completed PhD in Management Information Systems or a closely related discipline; and will demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching and in scholarly research and publication. The successful candidate will be experienced with teaching management information systems including the use of cases and integrative cases, and have a record of innovative pedagogy development at the course or program level and of developing advanced undergraduate- and/or graduate-level management information systems courses or cases. The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is an asset, as is knowledge of SAP. Candidates are also expected to provide evidence of service or promise of service in administrative and committee work.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for teaching and program development of Management Information Systems undergraduate, and possibly graduate courses. This includes the development, enhancement and delivery of courses, as well as the oversight of student projects in the areas of ERP systems and business analytics. S/he will also contribute to supporting students’ learning through pedagogical innovation (e.g. online, blended learning, flipped classrooms), outcome-based student assessments, interaction with industry, learning technologies, and collegial governance of our programs.
