The School of Administrative Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications for an Alternate Stream (teaching-focused) tenure‐track position in Taxation at the rank of Assistant Lecturer, to commence July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in taxation as well as integrative capstone courses.

The successful candidate will have completed a graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in Accounting or a closely related discipline, have a professional accounting designation (a CPA, CA is preferred) and have public accounting experience. In addition, the candidate will have up‐to‐date knowledge of CPA Canada educational requirements and the ability to enhance the reputation of our accredited accounting program.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching across the accounting curriculum, particularly in taxation. The successful candidate will be experienced with teaching integrative cases, have a record of innovative pedagogy development at the course or program level and of developing advanced undergraduate and/or graduate level accounting cases involving taxation issues. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education, technology enhanced learning and community-based learning is an asset. Candidates are also expected to provide evidence of service or promise of service in administrative and committee work.
