Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track position in Chronic Diseases and Global Health at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2018.

Applicants will have documented expertise in non-modifiable (genetic) and modifiable (lifestyle) determinants of chronic diseases/conditions in a global health context with knowledge of evidence-based approaches that affect lifestyle factors. A focus on cardiovascular and/or metabolic-related chronic diseases/conditions from a global health perspective and the consequences of lifestyle interventions is vital. The candidate must demonstrate through their research and teaching a translational approach of chronic diseases/conditions, from the molecular and cellular physiological basis to a whole body functioning perspective. Candidate should show excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research and in teaching and be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Applicants must have a PhD in Kinesiology or a related field that supports their qualification with post-doctoral experience being an asset. The incumbent will develop an independent program of research as evidenced by a solid publication record in refereed journals and promise of external funding. The candidate will be required to teach courses at the undergraduate plus graduate levels and supervise graduate students in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science and Global Health Programs. The candidate will demonstrate the capacity to support the internationalization both in research and teaching within the School of Kinesiology and Health Science and Global Health Programs. International research and/or teaching experience along with pedagogical innovation using technology-enhanced learning are definite assets.
