Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track position in Nutritional Interventions for Health and Disease over the Lifespan at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 2018.

Candidates with a PhD focused on Nutrition across the life span/Nutrition and Aging with specific interests in Functional Foods/Nutraceuticals, or Nutrition in the Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Disease will be considered. Applicants will be required to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students (Masters and/or PhD), and develop an independent externally-funded research program. Being a Registered Dietitian and/or having relevant post-doctoral experience are assets.

Applicants must show excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly research and be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Excellence in scholarly research should be supported by a proven track record of publication in peer reviewed journals and promise of acquiring external funding. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is an asset.

The School of Kinesiology and Health Science aligns this position with the community-based experiential education activities and certificate programs. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to be appointed to both the Muscle Health Research Center (MHRC) and the York University Centre for Aging Research and Education (YU-CARE).
