Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment in Health Informatics & Analytics at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence July 1, 2018. Applicants should be familiar with current developments in digital health and health data analytics as well as with the privacy and security of health data. Candidates must have a PhD in Health Informatics, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field, with substantial experience in health and demonstrated success in working with health professionals and industry partners. The successful candidate would be expected to have expertise in any of the following: Healthcare Analytics; Big Data Analysis; GIS; EMR/EHR; Databases; System Analysis and Design; eHealth Applications R&D; and knowledge of eHealth Ontario or Canada Health Infoway deliverables and processes.

Candidates should show excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly research and be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is an asset. Successful experience in teaching in relevant health-related fields is preferable. The position will involve teaching at the undergraduate level. Although a graduate program in Informatics does not currently exist, the successful applicant must be prepared to participate actively in one or more of York's related graduate programs which will involve graduate teaching and supervision. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the further development of the Health Informatics undergraduate program and in the development of a graduate program and be expected to fully participate in a highly productive and collegial academic community.
