Professorial Tenure-Stream Appointments

Applications are invited from highly qualified individuals for three (3) full-time Professorial Stream tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing July 1, 2018. We invite applications from highly qualified nurses with expertise in one of the following areas: Primary Health Care/Community Nursing; Global Context of Nursing; or Oncology. Responsibilities will include: teaching and supervision in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs (PhD program commencing in September 2018); conducting a program of research; and academic service. Successful candidates for the Global Context of Nursing position should also be able to support teaching in the Global Health Program.

Successful candidates must be registered in good standing or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; and have a baccalaureate degree in Nursing, a Master's degree in Nursing or a related field (Nursing preferred), and a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Nursing or a related field (PhD in Nursing preferred) completed by the commencement of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate alignment with the School of Nursing's commitment to human science and to multiple perspectives in nursing discourses, knowledge, and research; and demonstrate alignment with the School of Nursing's commitment to social justice and health promotion. A scholar at the level of Assistant Professor demonstrates evidence of a beginning program of scholarship, including research and publications, and is eligible for external research funding and grants. A scholar at the level of Associate Professor has an established program of research, graduate supervisory experience, substantive research funding, and a strong publication record. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence, in scholarly research and teaching and be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Experience with teaching in university undergraduate and graduate nursing programs; in technology-enhanced and experiential learning environments; and, in academic governance at the unit, faculty, and/or university level are viewed as assets.
