The School of Administrative Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications for an Alternate Stream (teaching-focused) tenure‐track position in Management Accounting at the rank of Assistant Lecturer, to commence July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in management accounting as well as integrative capstone courses. The position will be based at the York University Markham Centre Campus when the new campus is operational (expected in Fall 2021). Between July 1, 2019 and the opening of the Markham campus, the appointee will assume a combination of teaching responsibilities at York's Keele campus and curricular development responsibilities for the Markham campus.

The successful candidate will have completed a master's degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline (e.g., MBA), have a professional accounting designation (a CPA, CMA is preferred), and have management accounting work experience in or with a medium to large, IT-intensive organization. The candidate would have a proven track record of data analytics for accounting and be able to integrate hands-on applications of the following into her/his teaching: enterprise resource planning, Excel and business intelligence, and data analysis. In addition, the candidate will have up‐to‐date knowledge of CPA Canada educational requirements and the ability to enhance the reputation of our accredited accounting program.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching across the accounting curriculum, particularly in management accounting. The successful candidate will be experienced in teaching integrative cases, and have a record of innovative pedagogy development at the course or program level and of developing advanced undergraduate and/or graduate level accounting cases involving management accounting issues. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education, technology enhanced learning and community-based learning is an asset. Candidates are also expected to provide evidence of service or promise of service in administrative and committee work.
