OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS (OMIS)

The Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) Area of the Schulich School of Business, York University invites applications for a professorial tenure track appointment in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics or Artificial Intelligence at the Assistant Professor level, to commence July 1, 2019. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to effectively communicate with both undergraduate and senior managerial audiences in graduate and executive education settings as well as supervise PhD candidates.

Specifically, the successful applicant should be able to teach in the BBA and MBA Programs and should have potential to teach in the Masters of Supply Chain Program or the Masters of Business Analytics Program. Preferred candidates will have a PhD in Operations Management, Information Systems or a related field. The candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.

Demonstrated outstanding research and scholarship (or potential) is evidenced by publications or late-round revisions in relevant top-tier journals such as the Fortune 50, and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Experience in curriculum development is an asset.

We are specifically looking for candidates who conduct research in supply chain management, artificial intelligence and data analytics. Candidates should be able to relate their research to real world business applications and the operational needs of organizations.
