York University is looking for a leader to help develop a new program within the field of computer science for the university's new campus in Markham, just outside of Toronto, Canada. You will have the opportunity to build an innovative, professionally relevant educational experience from the ground up. You will have the support of your colleagues in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which is well-established at the university's main campus as part of the Lassonde School of Engineering.

You will be based at the York University Markham Centre Campus when the new campus is operational (expected in Fall 2021). Between July 1, 2019 and the opening of the Markham campus, you will teach and conduct research at York's Keele campus while leading the development of our department's exciting new academic program at the new Markham campus.

We encourage you to apply for a tenure-stream position at the level of Associate or Full Professor, to commence July 1, 2019. You will have a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field. You will have a strong research record in any field of computer science, matched with proven student-centred teaching and program development expertise including:

• leveraging community involvement;

• evidence-based pedagogical innovations.

You will receive start-up funding, and a reduced teaching load while leading the development of our program for the new Markham campus.

In joining us at the Associate or Full Professor level, you will continue to:

• provide academic leadership;
• demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
• engage in curricular and pedagogical innovation;
• develop a unique, externally funded research program;
• supervise graduate students;
• be eligible to join our Faculty of Graduate Studies; and
• participate in new or existing partnerships with industry and/or other public institutions.
