The Global Health Program and the Faculty of Health, York University invites applications for a tenure-track professorial-stream appointment in Community Health at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence July 1, 2019.

Applicants should be focused on community health from a global health perspective. The successful candidate will have expertise in applying intersectional anti-colonial and anti-oppression frameworks and a social determinants perspective to research and teaching in areas such as community health, mental health, disability, and Indigenous health. Experience working in community health practice, policy, and/or management preferred. Applicants must have a PhD (or a Ph.D. near completion by the start of the appointment) in Global Health, or in a related health or social science discipline with a substantive focus on global health aspects of community health, health policy, health systems, health care ethics and/or human rights.

Candidates must demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research, university teaching, and graduate supervision. They will be expected to develop and sustain a productive, innovative and high-quality program of research related to their expertise. The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching related to community health in a global context. Pedagogical innovation in areas such as experiential education, community engagement, and technology enhanced learning is preferred.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
