The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health at York University http://psyc.info.yorku.ca/ invites applications for a full-time tenure track professorial-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Clinical-Developmental Psychology, to commence July 1, 2019. Candidates must hold a PhD in Psychology from an accredited clinical training program and be eligible for registration as a psychologist in the province of Ontario.
Candidates must have expertise in youth addictions, substance abuse and/or substance use, though research in a related area of research may be given consideration, including with expertise in assessment or intervention with youth. The successful candidate will provide evidence of a high-quality research program with the potential to link with key strengths within our department (e.g. cognitive/developmental psychology, neuropsychology). The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching and in scholarly research and publication. Pedagogical innovation in areas such as experiential education and technology-enhanced learning is preferred. The successful candidate must provide evidence of an ability to work collaboratively and will be expected to contribute through service to the department, faculty, and university, and engage in clinical supervision activities in our York University Psychology Clinic, as well as undergraduate and graduate teaching and research supervision. The successful candidate must be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
York University is one of the few universities in Canada to offer graduate education in Clinical Developmental Psychology with a Clinical Neuropsychology option for specialization. Both the Clinical Developmental Psychology Program and Clinical Neuropsychology Program are accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association. The successful candidate will benefit from York University's strong clinical faculty complement and infrastructure, including a state-of-the-art MRI facility, in-house clinic, and affiliations with research, hospital, and treatment centres.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
