The Global Health Program Faculty of Health, York University invites applications for a tenure-track professorial-stream appointment in Social Epidemiology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to commence July 1, 2019.
The successful candidate will be a social epidemiologist with expertise in global governance, a very strong interest in applying their expertise to the global collective action problem of antimicrobial resistance, and a willingness to take an administrative leadership role in the activities of York University's proposed World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on the Global Governance of Antimicrobial Resistance and to build their research agenda around the Centre. Applicants must have a PhD (or a Ph.D. near completion by the start of the appointment) in Social Epidemiology or Global Health, or in a related health or social science discipline with a substantive focus on the social epidemiology of global health using a global health equity theoretical lens.
Candidates must demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research, university teaching and graduate supervision. They will be expected to sustain a productive, innovative and high-quality program of research in the area described above. The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
