The Global Health Program and the Faculty of Health, York University invites applications for a tenure-track professorial-stream appointment in Global Health Policy at the rank of Associate Professor, to commence July 1, 2019.

Applicants must specialize in global health with a focus on areas such as global health governance, political economy approaches to health, comparative health systems and policy, social determinants of health, and/or coordination of global health and humanitarian assistance across national health systems. Expertise in global health architecture, human rights, health care ethics, or global health leadership is an asset. Applicants must have a completed PhD in Global Health Policy or a related field of social science or law with a strong global health governance, policy, politics and equity focus.

Candidates must demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research, University teaching and graduate supervision. They will be expected to develop a productive, innovative and high-quality program of research to advance global health policy, governance or a related area. The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching related to the position. Pedagogical innovation in areas such as experiential education, community-based learning, and technology enhanced learning is preferred.

The successful candidate will possess strong skills in building collaborative teams, communication, and project management. They must be open to and demonstrate the capacity to assume a major leadership role within the global health program, including course planning, student recruitment, and the mentorship of junior faculty. Therefore, administrative leadership experience in an academic setting is preferred.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
