Health Management

The School of Health Policy and Management, Faculty of Health at York University invites applications for a teaching stream position in Health Management at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream to commence July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses and participate in curriculum development and academic service.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Health Organization and Management, Health Administration, or in Business Administration, or the social sciences or a related field, with a health focus.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching university-level courses and have a strong commitment to pedagogy and student success and the capacity to bring a theoretical and practical orientation to teaching, learning, and program design. A record in pedagogical innovation in areas such as experiential education, technology enhanced learning and community-based learning is preferred as is experience with curriculum development and universal design. Evidence of experience in the development of teaching resources and assessment tools is an asset.

Candidates will be required to teach in the BHS program and the specialized honours concentration in Management. Although a graduate program in Health Management does not currently exist, the successful applicant must be prepared to (a) play a pivotal role in further development of a graduate program in Health Management and Informatics and (b) participate actively in one or more of York's related graduate programs which will involve graduate teaching. The successful candidate is expected to fully participate in a highly productive and collegial academic community.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
