Health Management

The School of Health Policy and Management, Faculty of Health, York University invites applications for a professorial stream, tenure-track appointment in Health Management at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to commence July 1, 2019.

Applicants must have a PhD in Healthcare Organization and Management or in the social sciences or a related field with a strong health focus. Applicants must have a program of research focusing on one or more of the following areas: healthcare organization and management, organizational or health system change, quality of care, or professional education and training. Leadership experience and experience working in the health care sector would be assets.

Applicants must show excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research as evidenced by a record of publication in high quality outlets, and the ability to secure funding to sustain an innovative, high quality program of research and support for graduate students. Candidates must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Candidates must also demonstrate excellence or the potential to achieve excellence in university teaching. The use of pedagogical innovation in areas such as community-engaged learning, technology enhanced learning, and/or experiential education is preferred. Candidates will be required to teach in the BHS program. Although a graduate program in Health Management does not currently exist, the successful applicant must be prepared to: (a) play a pivotal role in potential development of a graduate program in Health Management and Informatics and (b) participate actively in one or more of York's related graduate programs which will involve graduate teaching and supervision. The successful candidate is expected to fully participate in a highly productive and collegial academic community.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
