Professorial Tenure-Stream Appointments
Applications are invited from highly qualified individuals for four(4) full-time professorial tenure-stream positions in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing July 1, 2019. Positions are available in the following areas: Common and Complex Health Challenges across the Lifespan (2 positions); Primary Health Care Across the Lifespan (Nurse Practitioner preferred); Critical Perspectives on Health and Health Care Across the Lifespan. In addition, we have one (1) full time professorial position in Transformative Approaches to Education at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2019. Responsibilities for all positions will include: teaching and supervision in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs, conducting a program of research, and academic service.
Candidates must: (1) be registered in good standing or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario; (2) have a baccalaureate degree in Nursing, (3) a Master's degree in Nursing or a related field (Nursing preferred), and (3) a PhD in Nursing or equivalent (Nursing preferred). Doctoral candidates who will complete their degree requirements prior to September 1, 2019 may be considered.
Candidates must demonstrate alignment with the School of Nursing's commitment to human science, social justice, and health promotion and to multiple perspectives in nursing discourses, knowledge, and research.
A scholar at the level of Assistant Professor must demonstrate evidence of a beginning program of scholarship, including research and publications, and is eligible for external research funding and grants. A scholar at the level of Associate Professor has an established program of research, is recognized in their field locally and nationally with potential to achieve international repute, graduate supervisory experience, substantive research funding, and a strong publication record. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence, in scholarly research and teaching and be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Candidates must demonstrate excellence or the promise of excellence in teaching and pedagogical innovation. Experience with teaching in university undergraduate and graduate nursing programs; in technology-enhanced and experiential learning environments; and, in academic governance at the unit, faculty, and/or university level are viewed as assets.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
