Department of Geography
The Department of Geography, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications from qualified candidates for a one-year professorial contractually limited appointment at the level of Sessional Assistant Professor in Physical Geography to commence July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fluvial geomorphology, primarily in urban and/or rural watersheds. The candidate will have a PhD in Physical Geography and demonstrable excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching and scholarly research, the latter, which complements and builds upon the expertise of the physical geographers at York University. Pedagogical innovation in priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred. The appointment carries a teaching load of three full courses or the equivalent and may include such courses as: Introductory Physical Geography, Introductory Geomorphology, Field Studies in Physical Geography, and an upper level course in Rivers: Environment and Process.
