The Faculty of Education invites applications for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Aesthetics and Art Education at the Assistant Professor level, to commence July 1, 2020. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval. Aligned with the priorities of Faculty of Education's Strategic Plan ( http://edu.yorku.ca/files/2017/08/EDU-StrategicPlan2017.pdf), the successful applicant will contribute to the full range of programs in the Faculty, including the Bachelor of Education, and the Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies.

A Ph.D. by the time of appointment in Art Education or a related field is required. Candidates must show excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research and publication, teaching and service.

Applicants should have an ongoing program of research and specialize in educational engagements with art and culture, and the arts as a site of research and teaching and learning, with a focus on aesthetic, arts-based and research-creation methodologies in educational research and pedagogy. The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
