The Faculty of Education invites applications for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Adult Learning and Education at the Assistant Professor level, to commence July 1, 2020. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval. Aligned with the priorities of Faculty of Education’s Strategic Plan ( ), the successful applicant will contribute to the Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies, the Master of Leadership and Community Engagement, other programs in the Faculty, as well as contribute to program development around education beyond the K-12 sector.

A Ph.D. by the start of the appointment in Education or a related field is required. Candidates must show excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research and publication, teaching and service.

Applicants should have an ongoing program of research and specialize in the theoretical and practical aspects of adult learning (and the associated pedagogies such as experiential learning, online learning, digital learning technologies) as it occurs in places such as community organizations, the health professions, industry, government, non-governmental and non–profit organizations, museums and galleries, adult education institutions, and other workplaces.

The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
