The Brookfield Centre in Real Estate & Infrastructure, Schulich School of Business, York University invites applications for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Infrastructure at the Assistant Professor level, to commence July 1, 2020. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

The Brookfield Centre has established a global leadership role for the Schulich School of Business School in the expanding and evolving fields of real estate and infrastructure, and the increasingly important intersections between them. It supports an MBA specialization, a one-year Master of Real Estate and Infrastructure (MREI), and the Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship program held in partnership with a consortium of global institutional investors.

A Ph.D. (or a Ph.D. near completion by the start of the appointment) is required. Candidates must show excellence or promise of excellence in teaching, scholarly research and publication and service. We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of outstanding teaching at the graduate and executive education levels as well as impactful applied research and strong industry engagement. While the primary focus of this appointment is infrastructure, the candidate must also be capable of teaching courses in real estate. Preference will be given to those applicants who also have relevant industry experience, a global perspective and a proven ability to link theory and practice. A legal background and familiarity with structuring transactions and private infrastructure investments is preferred. Applicants should have an ongoing program of research and specialize in the one or more of the following areas: the infrastructure investment, finance and development field broadly defined, infrastructure as part of the broader and evolving real assets asset class, partnership models from legal and transactional perspectives and business models associated with infrastructure investment and operation. An active record of research accomplishments including conference presentations, working papers and published papers in recognized journals in their field is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
