The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at York University invites applications for a tenure-track professorial-stream position in Synthetic Chemistry (broadly defined) at the Assistant Professor level to commence July 1, 2020. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline, postdoctoral experience in relevant areas, and an outstanding research history (appropriate to their career stage) including a sustained record of publications in high quality peer reviewed journals, and be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

We seek candidates who demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in research, teaching and scholarly activity. Candidates with an interest in medicinal and/or materials chemistry are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an outstanding and innovative research program, secure and maintain external peer-reviewed research funding, recruit and supervise graduate students, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
