The Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, invites applications for a professorial-stream tenure-track appointment at the Associate Professor level, to commence July 1, 2020. The area of specialization is Non-Canonical Philosophy, broadly understood to include, for example, philosophy of race and critical race theory, Indigenous philosophy, non-Western philosophy, feminist philosophy, and continental philosophy.

A PhD in Philosophy is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and scholarly research and be well-positioned to engage with York's diverse student body and to contribute to the vibrant intellectual life of the department. The successful applicant will have a strong record of publication and be suitable for immediate appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
