The School of Information Technology at York University, Toronto, is pleased to invite applications for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level, to commence July 1, 2020. We are seeking outstanding candidates with an ongoing program of research and specialization in Information Systems. While candidates in all specializations within information systems are welcome to apply, the following topics are of particular interest: IT Strategy and Governance, IT Service and Operations Management, Enterprise Architecture, IT Sourcing, Ethical and Regulatory Aspects. The ideal candidate is able to demonstrate strong empirical research skills, including qualitative methodologies, and mastery of the dominant organizational, managerial, behavioral, social or other non-technical theories and phenomena pertinent to the area of study.
A Ph.D. by the start of the appointment in Information Technology, Information Systems, Management, or other field related to Information Systems is required. Candidates must show excellence or promise of excellence in teaching, scholarly research and service, and to have produced a strong publication record in premier IS venues, appropriate to their stage of career. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong, independent, externally funded research program, publish in top-tier venues, supervise graduate students, contribute to the curricular and institutional growth of the School and teach existing and new undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Technology in the broad area of Information Systems as prescribed in model curricula such as those of ACM (IS2010, MSIS2016), ISACA, ITAC-BTM. They must also be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is preferred.
