The School of Administrative Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University invites highly qualified candidates to apply for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Marketing at the Assistant Professor level, to commence July 1, 2021. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

A PhD in Marketing, or a PhD near completion by the start of the appointment with a demonstrated record of excellence or the promise of excellence in research and teaching, is required. Applicants should have a clearly articulated program of research in one or more of the following areas: digital marketing (including but not limited to social media), big data, or marketing applications of disruptive technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented/virtual reality, IoT). The successful candidate will be expected to engage in outstanding, innovative, and externally funded research at the highest level and must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Evidence of the promise of research excellence will be demonstrated by a record of publications (or forthcoming publications) with significant journals in the field, presentations at major conferences, research awards and accolades, and strong recommendations from referees of high standing.

The position will involve undergraduate as well as graduate teaching and supervision. Evidence of the promise of excellence in teaching will be demonstrated by a statement of teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations, other teaching accomplishments, pedagogical innovations including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology-enhanced learning, and strong letters of reference.
