The School of Information Technology, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, Toronto, invites highly qualified candidates to apply for a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Information Systems at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, to commence July 1, 2021. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

A PhD by the start of the appointment in Information Technology, Information Systems, Management, or a field related to Information Systems is required. We are seeking outstanding candidates with an ongoing program of research and specialization in Information Systems. While candidates in all specializations within information systems are welcome to apply, the following topics are of particular interest: IT Strategy and Governance, IT Service and Operations Management, Enterprise Architecture, IT Sourcing, Ethical and Regulatory Aspects. The ideal candidate is able to demonstrate strong empirical research skills, including qualitative methodologies, and mastery of the dominant organizational, managerial, behavioral, social or other non-technical theories and phenomena pertinent to the area of study. Candidates must show excellence in teaching, scholarly research and service, and to have produced a strong publication record in premier IS venues, appropriate to their stage of career.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence or promise of research excellence of a recognized international calibre as demonstrated in: the research statement; a record of publications (or forthcoming publications) with significant journals in the field; presentations at major conferences; awards and accolades; and strong recommendations from referees of high standing.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the curricular and institutional growth of the School and teach existing and new undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Technology in the broad area of Information Systems as prescribed in model curricula such as those of ACM (IS2010, MSIS2016), ISACA, ITAC-BTM. They must also be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Evidence of excellence or promise of excellence in teaching will be provided through: the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; teaching evaluations; and strong letters of reference.
