The Schulich School of Business is seeking an outstanding scholar and educator in Accounting for a tenured or tenure-track professorial stream position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor effective July 1, 2022. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

Applicants should have a track record of outstanding quantitative-oriented accounting research and teaching in at least one of the following areas: management accounting, financial accounting, auditing or taxation.

Candidates will have a PhD in accounting or related field with demonstrated outstanding accounting research and scholarship. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate recent supervision of PhD students; teach advanced courses in the Master of Accounting Program, as well as in the BBA, MBA and PhD Programs; demonstrate teaching excellence, with curriculum development as an asset; hold a recognized professional accounting designation; and contribute positively to the collegial governance of the Accounting Area and the School as a whole.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in outstanding, innovative, and, as appropriate, externally funded research at the highest level.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence of a recognized international calibre as demonstrated in: the research statement; a record of publications (or forthcoming publications) with significant journals in the field; presentations at major conferences; awards and accolades; and strong recommendations from referees of high standing.

The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching and the successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through: the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; teaching evaluations; and strong letters of reference.
