The Faculty of Environmental Studies (FES) at York University, Toronto, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Environmental Policy and Climate Change to start July 1, 2007. Candidates must hold a PhD degree in a relevant field by the time of appointment or have equivalent academic or professional experience.

We seek candidates with expertise in the causes and consequences of climate change, Canadian and international climate change policies and options, and a good understanding of the vulnerabilities of natural, managed and human systems to the impact of climate change. Candidates should have a broad background in environmental policy including energy and renewable energy. In all policy areas, FES seeks candidates who emphasize relationships between the theory and practice of policy-making, as well as an understanding of the domestic and international dimensions of environmental policy in the context of globalization.

FES is a unique interdisciplinary Faculty that adopts a broad definition of “environmental studies” including natural, built, social and organizational environments and welcomes diverse perspectives and approaches. Candidates must be able to contribute to teaching, advising, and research in undergraduate and graduate programs, including the supervision of doctoral research.
