CUPE Local 3903 - Bargaining Update #14

The parties met twice this week.
The Ministry of Labour has issued a "no-board report" letter and as such, the Union will be in a legal strike position at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, November 2nd, 2008.
The parties have agreed to a schedule of bargaining of three days per week for the next two weeks.

CUPE Local 3903 - Bargaining Update #13

The parties met twice this week.
The conciliation officer appointed by the Ministry of Labour met with the parties separately yesterday. The Union requested that the conciliation officer arrange for the Ministry of Labour to issue a "no-board report" letter as soon as possible.
The issuance of a “no-board report” letter is a mandatory precondition for the Union to be in a legal strike position. The Union will be in a legal strike position at 12:01 a.m. on the 17th day after the date the date of the “no-board report” letter. The “no-board report” letter will likely be issued by the Ministry of Labour some time next week and the strike deadline will likely be a date towards the end of October or early November. The Employer expressed to the conciliation officer its desire to reach a settlement without a strike and avoid any disruption to the academic studies of the 50,000 students.
We will provide further updates as they become available.
