Purpose:
The Talent Development Consultant is responsible for ensuring that managers have the right skills to meet their strategic challenges by liaising with University Partners and assisting the organization to move forward as a high performance workplace.

The incumbent works collaboratively with Talent Acquisition and Development, Employee Relations, and other business partners at the university to:
Develop and implement innovative learning programs and solutions that actively engage managers in improving their knowledge and skills to effectively manage work-related issues. Ensure solutions fit in with the culture, values and mission of the organization. Build credibility and trust based on knowledge and understanding of needs. Provide expert advice on managerial assessment, performance management, coaching, career transitioning and competency management.

This role will also support the implementation of two Human Resources projects; an Applicant Tracking System/Onboarding and a Time Reporting System for part-time and casual employees. The incumbent will work closely with project teams in designing and implementing a training strategy and plan.
 
Education:
Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, or related field. Graduate degree an asset. Certification in adult education. Certification in Type and Career assessments.
 
Experience:
Minimum 7 years related experience in management development. Experience in large organizations, preferably unionized. Demonstrated experience in designing training in support of Human Resources ERP. Demonstrated experience in individual coaching and group facilitation. Demonstrated experience in facilitating organizational change and project management.
 
Skills:
Excellent knowledge of:
Adult learning and instructional design theory; various instructional and delivery options and learning technologies. Individual and organizational assessment tools. Managerial development best practices. Change management theory. Facilitation methods. Human performance improvement model.

Demonstrated knowledge of:
Other human resources functions and relevant legislation. Computer literacy and e learning knowledge and application.

Demonstrates interpersonal skills including:
Building trust; effective communication; influencing stakeholders; leveraging diversity; networking and partnering.

Demonstrates management skills including:
Analyzing needs and proposing solutions; applying business acumen; driving results; planning and implementing assignments; thinking strategically.

Demonstrates personal skills including:
Demonstrating adaptability and modeling personal development.
