Purpose:

PLEASE NOTE: This position requires bilingualism in English and French, and is located at Glendon College: 2275 Bayview Avenue, Toronto.

As part of Glendon’s Students Services, the Office of Recruitment, Admissions and Applicant Relations champions “putting students first” through an integrated, student-focused service model from student recruitment to admissions and applicant relations to enrolment and retention. Under the direction of the Assistant Principal, the Director provides leadership, vision, strategic development, operational oversight, and guidance on marketing, services and activities for all aspects of the Recruitment, Admissions and Applicant Relations operations for students on the Glendon Campus. This includes off-campus recruitment and on-campus visits and events and all other activities meant to attract qualified applicants to Glendon; pre-admissions-related communications, document receipt and processing and records management, applicant assessment and related communications, including notification of decisions; and applicant inquiries services in-person, by phone, email, web, chat, etc. This position reviews policies and strategies, sets operational goals, monitors performance against goals, and implements initiatives to effectively promote Glendon, improve levels of service, streamline processes, improve efficiency and implement best practices as they relate to student recruitment, admissions and client services. The overarching goal is to generate a sizeable, quality pool of incoming students who are an excellent “fit” with Glendon and, in turn, support retention and student satisfaction. The Director is the lead liaison with central university Recruitment and acts as an ambassador for Glendon at professional associations, in the Francophone/phile communities and with partner organizations.
 
Education:
University degree, Masters degree desired preferably with a specialization in marketing, education, administration or policy.
 
Experience:
5- 7 years of progressively responsible, relevant management experience in a bilingual university setting in marketing/public relations preferably in student recruitment and enrolment data management and assessment; program administration or related experience; managerial experience in a unionized environment; experience with strategic planning and management, project management, oversight of policies/procedures preferably in the area of admissions assessment/evaluation.
 
Skills:
Strong strategic and visionary leadership combined with sound supervisory and management skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English; effective team leader, negotiator, and consensus builder; familiarity with university environment, including academic and non-academic policies and regulations; proven planning, organizing and decision-making ability; direct experience with SEM; project management skills; operations management skills; excellent presentation skills; excellent editing skills; working knowledge of microcomputers, wordprocessing and spreadsheet skills; valid driver’s license; willingness to travel outside Ontario, as required.
