Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, Systems Management Services the Digital Workplace
Analyst (DWA) has a key role in the support and maintenance of Office 365
applications and associated desktop, web and mobile application software. The
incumbent serves as a user liaison, providing guidance on business usage,
communications, governance and change management for the digital workplace
product suite. The DWA works closely with the University’s user community, internal
technical and business teams, vendors to ensure that current and future offering of
enterprise Office 365 applications and related desktop software remains aligned with
the University’s academic, research and administrative goals. The DWA will function
as a technical lead on assigned projects, author documentation, trouble-shoot and
resolve problems and make recommendations for expanding the digital workplace
product suite. |

Education:
Relevant university degree, e.g., computer science; communications; information
systems or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five
years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This
education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. |

Experience:
3 or more years of continuous and progressive experience implementing and supporting
enterprise digital workplace product suites in the last 5 years. Preference will be given
to those with both MS Office 365 and Google G-suite experience. Experience in higher
education sector would be an asset.
Extensive experience supporting MS Office 365 and associated applications on
Windows 10, MAC OSX desktop platforms and Android and IOS mobile platforms is a
key requirement. Experience must include migration tool experience in one or more of
Exchange and IMAP to Office 365 technology and experience in documenting and
communicating technical solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences. |

Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with both
technical and non-technical users (written and oral); must have a strong customer
service orientation.
Exceptional analytical, evaluative and technical problem-solving skills; highly skilled
in troubleshooting the University’s digital workplace applications and OS platforms.
Exceptional ability in requirements gathering and translating user needs into tangible
recommendations and plans.
Strong ability to work independently, set priorities and work effectively under
pressure; able to perform effectively as part of a team (internal and/or external
resources).
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise tact and diplomacy and deal calmly and
effectively with people.
Ability to multi-task and meet long/short term deadlines; ability to attend accurately
to detail.
Exceptional ability and willingness to keep abreast of technological developments
with strong ability to adapt quickly to rapidly changing environments.
