Purpose:

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL BE WORKING DOWNTOWN AT THE MILES S. NADAL MANAGEMENT CENTRE, 5th FLOOR, ERNST & YOUNG TOWER, T-D CENTRE (BAY & KING STREET).

The Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC) is a revenue and margin generating strategic business unit within the Schulich School of Business. The mission is to provide top quality non-degree executive and management education programs. The clients are middle to senior level managers and executives from the public, not-for-profit and private sectors. As part of the marketing communications function, SEEC advertises these programs through direct mail, e-mail blasts, webinars and social medial outlets. The people who request information; attend our webinars; and participate in our programs are placed on our data base for future marketing initiatives. This data base needs constant monitoring and maintaining to ensure that our marketing communication dollars are reaching our target audience. This position will be required to follow up with clients through telephone calls and e-mail communication to ensure that the contact information we have in our data base is correct. During the course of this communication with the customer, this person is required to know the SEEC product line to be able to answer questions on SEEC programs as well, if the opportunity arises, to promote and sell the seminars.
 
Education:
High school graduate and related training (e.g. word processing, data entry).
 
Experience:
2 years of related experience updating and maintaining a computer data base; customer service and sales experience.
 
Skills:
Demonstrated skills/abilities in the following areas: Pleasant and patient manner; excellent English - writing, grammar and oral communication skills; accuracy essential; exercising good judgement, initiative and creative problem solving skills, excellent organizational skills including ability to work independently and meet deadlines and working effectively in a team environement; time management skills; effective interpersonal and public relations skills, Sales experience; tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide variety of contacts; maintaining confidentiality; intermediate level knowledge in a variety of computer software including MS Word and Excel; online data entry skills and knowledge of a large computerized record system.
