The York University Career Centre enhances the abilities and confidence of York's diverse students and new graduates by creating and delivering innovative career development, job search and experiential education support to help York students and new graduates in their pursuit of career success. Reporting to the Director of the Career Centre, the Manager, Employer Development & Experiential Education is responsible for supporting students' and new graduates' career development by managing strategic programs, events and services that create opportunities for and facilitate students and new graduate connections with alumni and employers for the purposes of career exploration, job search and/or further education opportunities. The Manager, Employer Development & Experiential Education leads his/her team in developing alumni and employer outreach strategies to connect York students in all programs and levels of study with industry professionals, often in collaboration with the Career Centre's campus partners. The Manager, Employer Development & Experiential Educations works closely with the Manager, Career Development to assess students' needs and determine the best programs and services to connect students and new graduates with alumni and employers for career exploration and/or full-time, part-time, summer, internship and volunteer opportunities; and with educational recruiters for further education exploration. In collaboration with the Career Centre's partners, the Manager, Employer Development & Experiential Education is also responsible for the development and management of new and current experiential education initiatives and programs (i.e. internship, co- op) that foster the academic and career development of York University students.
 
Education:
University Degree plus specialized training in employer development, and experiential education or equivalent combination of education and years of experience, which shows an aptitude towards superior interpersonal skills and partnership building.
 
Experience:
Five to seven years leadership, relationship development and event management experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a team within the career development and/or recruitment fields, preferably in a unionized environment Preference will be given to those with proven experience working in post-secondary career services, leading employer development/outreach, managing experiential education programs (i.e. internship and/or co-op), and managing large scale events.

An appreciation of academic values and a commitment to student career development. Proficient with MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
