Purpose:
The Business Systems and Statistical Analyst assists with the
business analysis of the student record, participates in work
process reviews, generates reports, researches information related
to new initiatives, projects and/or activities related to the
administration of modules within the Student Information System
(S.I.S) York’s online enterprise data base system. This is also
responsible for testing of new S.I.S. modules, bug fixes or general
enhancements. Under the direction of the Assistant Registrar, this
position will provide feedback between client user groups and the
technical developers and programming teams, by communicating
requirements for new systems and testing results to both groups. |

Knowledge:
Operating systems Microsoft Windows (Basic)
Database Management/Design Microsoft Access (Advanced),
Microsoft SQL (Basic), Oracle (Basic).
Application Packages Word Processing (Intermediate)
(e.g. Word),
Spreadsheets (Advanced)
(e.g. Excel),
Email (Intermediate)
(e.g. Lotus Notes),
WWW/Web Design (Basic)
(e.g. Web browsers,
Web authoring tools).
Enterprise Dbases/ SIS Modules (Intermediate)
File collaboration tools and problem
ticketing systems (Basic)(e.g. spaces, sharepoint, Remedy, Mantis
etc.) for the purposes of system maintenance and testing. |

Education:
Community College in a related discipline or equivalent. |
|
Experience:
2-3 years related work experience supporting a computerized student
information system or large enterprise database system; generating
reports, updating tables, testing new applications. |
